Create a recurring event

A recurring event repeats on a fixed schedule. CalendarLink creates each occurrence as a separate event with its own link, so you can still change or remove a single date.

Set up the series

  1. Create an event as usual and set the date and time of the first occurrence.

  2. Switch on Recurring.

  3. Set Repeat every: a number and Day, Week, Month or Year.

  4. For a weekly series, select the weekdays under On. You can pick several, for example Monday and Wednesday.

  5. Choose when the series Ends: Never, After a number of times, or On date.

  6. Check the Recurring dates line, which lists the coming dates.

  7. Select Save & publish.

The app then opens the collection with all occurrences listed and marked Recurring.

Good to know

  • After counts the repeats after the first event. "After 4 times" gives 5 events in total.

  • A monthly series repeats on the same date each month, for example the 3rd. Patterns such as "the first Thursday of the month" are not available; create those dates as separate events in one collection.

  • CalendarLink creates at most 50 events ahead. New ones are added automatically as earlier dates pass.

Change one date or the whole series

Select Edit on any occurrence. A dialog asks what you want to change:

  • Edit single event changes only this date. The event leaves the series and shows "Recurring event: Yes, out of sync"; later changes to the series no longer reach it.

  • Edit recurring event opens the first event of the series. Changes apply to every occurrence that is still in sync.

Remove dates

Open the options menu of an occurrence:

  • Delete removes that one date. Editing the series later does not bring it back.

  • Delete all recurring removes the whole series.

Both ask "Are you sure you want to delete this event?", so check which option you picked before you confirm. Delete all recurring also removes dates earlier than the one you opened it from.
